Student Voice is a group where students get to have a say in how our school runs. It was set up in 2022 as a sub-committee of our School Council by Briar, Montaya and Ms. Roney to streamline how students could make suggestions for events or decisions since all the other sub-committees were for adults. It is now a vital part of our school.
Students can share their thoughts and ideas on how to make our school better, organise fundraisers and events and give feedback on ideas from staff.
Over the last two years there have been lots of clever ideas shared by students. We meet regularly, supported by Mr. Gordan and Ms. Roney.
All students in Grade 5 to Year 12 are invited to join. Students in Prep to Grade 3 are encouraged to share their ideas with the Junior School Captains to share. We meet every second Tuesday in the library at lunchtime. Hope to see you there!
Student Voice meetings are chaired by our senior school captains, supported by Ms Roney. They are responsible for running the meeting, following the agenda and ensuring all students feel heard and listened to by the group.
The Student Voice Secretary is responsible for preparing and agenda and keeping minutes of all meetings, supported by Ms Roney. They communicate with Mr Ralph, Mrs Butters and Mrs Dart to seek permission to run events.
Student Voice Class Representatives are elected from each class in Years 5-11. They are responsible for sharing ideas from members from their class, representing the members of their class by voting on ideas. They come to our weekly Student Voice meetings and help prepare for student voice events.
The Student Voice Reporters are responsible for reporting what is happening in Student Voice at our weekly Year 5-12 assemblies. They help to make sure what is happening in Student Voice is communicated with the broader student body.
